Guest speaker: Olympic Gold Medallist & World Champion, Michael Johnson
A four-time Olympic champion and eight-time world champion, Michael Johnson is widely regarded as one of the greatest sprinters in track and field history. Over his career, he dominated both the 200m and 400m, setting world records in each distance before retiring from competition.
Johnson delivered one of the most iconic performances in Olympic history in Atlanta in 1996, becoming the first man to win double gold in the 200m and 400m. His winning times were remarkable too: 19.32 seconds for the 200m (a world record that would remain unbroken for 12 years) and 43.49 seconds for the 400m. At the 1999 World Championships in Seville, he set a new 400m world record of 43.18 seconds, which stood for the next 17 years.
Johnson was named United States Olympic Committee SportsMan of the Year three times. He is also a two-time recipient of the World Athletics Awards.
Since retiring, he has established himself as a commentator, speaker, and coach, sharing the strategies and behaviors required to achieve high performance in business and in life.
